Single-Dose Supplemental Antithrombin Adequate For Bypass Surgery.(Brief Article)

Researchers writing in Anesthesia and Analgesia presented new information on the pharmacokinetic qualities of antithrombin.

"Adequate levels of antithrombin (AT) III are essential for anticoagulation during cardiopulmonary bypass," explained J.M. Bailey and colleagues at Emory University, Georgia, USA ("Pharmacokinetics of recombinant transgenic antithrombin in volunteers," Anesthesia and Analgesia, March 2000;90(3):531-534).
