ALBANY CENTER SHOWS OFFER DISCONNECTED, THIN WORKS.(ARTS)

The photographs, mixed-media works, and small video installation by four artists now showing at the Albany Center Galleries are an odd assortment.

They form no overall theme because they were put together mostly out of circumstance: Three of the four artists are the recipients of Albany/Schenectady League of Arts Grants, the fourth was a product of scheduling.

So, I found myself approaching each person's work as if it were an isolated one-person show. Unfortunately, neither individually nor as a whole does this show completely take hold. The grant winners, Martin Benjamin, David Brickman and Adrienne Klein, are perhaps not given enough space to fully show the depth of their efforts and what is shown makes the viewer yearn for such depth.
