Fed: Howard to announce major SAS capacity upgrade
Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD will announce today a major upgrading of the capacity ofAustralia's elite special forces regiment.
He's told ABC radio in Perth that the upgrade bears directly on Australia's capacityto deal with threats of terrorism.
Mr HOWARD says the changes will greatly increase, focus and strengthen the specialforces' capacity.
He'll make the announcement at the home of the Special Air Service, Perth's CampbellBarracks, as he welcomes home troops who've spent four months fighting the war againstterrorism in Afghanistan.
