SIMON BROOKS has a selection crisis that could ruin Thetford Town FC's start to the new season.
The Brecklanders begin their Ridgeons League Division One campaign at Hadleigh United tomorrow (3pm) without five key players - including four defenders.
Central defensive duo Dave Richards and Simon Jackson are serving suspensions, while full-backs Tom Smith and Andrew Cusack are unavailable.
Summer signing Dave Bloomfield is also ruled out of the action in midfield, suffering with tonsillitis.
"It is a blow," said team manager Brooks. "Having a whole back four out is not ideal, but we still intend to get something out of the game."
